ill titleWelcome at The College Barbers!

The College Barbers is a barbershop men's chorus from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. It was founded in 1989 by teachers of Veluws College, which explains the name. The chorus has about 20 members and is directed by Music Director Jurrien Zaagman

The chorus rehearses every week on wednesday night from 8.00 pm in a church hall at Talingweg 41 in Apeldoorn.

ill titleHow's the sound?

This video of our 25th anniversary concert in Nov 2014 gives an impression of the musical concept of barbershop. It is four-part music, sung a capella, mainly from the first half of last century

ill titleProfile of the chorus

The chorus aims at a decent musical level. During rehearsals it concentrates on improvement of the repertoire and on studying new songs. Good practise material (like sheet music and mp3's per voice group) is available. After rehearsals, during 'afterglow', there is much time for social contact. The atmosphere in the choir is excellent.

The choir performs often. Many concerts are on wednesday night (rehearsal night), so the extra time needed is limited.
